Mega Tutorial: How to Upload to/download from webhosts - contributing to MB made easy

I have seen many MB newbies having problems in uploading and downloading videos and pics, so i am making this tutorial to make their life easy . As the title says, its a Mega Tutorial, coz I will show how to upload and download from:

(1) Rapidshare
(2) Yousendit
(3) Putfile
(4) Imageshack
(5) Uploadmall
(will add more gradually)

I have checked the current NL, but cant find any exhaustive tutorial on this kind of stuff (except what chituku's and panchi's threads ), so i am making this one. If this has been done earlier, tell me asap and i will stop

Starting with rapidshare

Type www.rapidshare.de in your browser.

You will see a page like this


Click on browse and open the file you want to upload


Now hit "Upload"


The upload button will go grayscale, and will change to Please Wait.


Now dont close this browser window or internet connection. Uploading may take a lot of time depending on your connection speed. For me, 1MB generally takes 1-2mins to upload

When upload finishes, the page will change and you will see something similar to what is given below at the bottom of the page.......


The Download Link is the URL of ur file. Copy this and paste it in MB . If you want the link in ur email too (precaution if u r forgeful like me), put ur email id and hit ok. You will also get it in ur inbox

So u have uploaded in rapidshare

Downloading from rapidshare sucks bigtime....but since in rapidshare we have advantage, we have no options but to stick to it.........

Click on a download link of rapidshare, or copy it in ur browser and hit go


In the page that opens up, scroll down and u see something like shown below


Click on the Free button, unless ofcourse you want to pay and use various added facilities

In the new page that opens up, a countdown starts before you get the download links........


Click on the download link (like one in above pic), and save it. If you have a download manager, dont use it. If on left click, the download manager opens up, the way to start internet explorer integrated downloader is shift+left click (i dunno what a leecher will do who doesnt have a keyboard ).....save the video and download it.

Yousendit is good, only drawback is that the file is hosted in their server for maximum 25 downloads or 7 days

anyways

to open yousendit, type www.yousendit.com........... a page like below opens up


Browse and open the file to host, and put your email id in the reciepient's box and click on send it.


a page like one below shows up while the file gets uploaded....dont disconnect or close your browser during this period.


After download completes, you recieve an email in your mailbox containing the link.......also you get the download link in the window itself.


Copy this link and paste it in mb and ppl can download ur file now

Click on an yousendit download link or copy it in ur browser and hit go...........


A page like below shows up


Click on "Click here to Download the File now" .........this takes you to another page. In this page, click on here link and download the file



Its easy, isnt it???

imageshack is the best photo host i have used........

type www.imageshack.us to get there.....u see a page like this...


Browse an open an image file


and hit Host it


The button changes to grayscale and Uploading


When uploading finishes, a new page opens giving the file in various formats
For non-nude images, use the Hotlink for Forums(1). If u post nude images(check MB policy first), use the Direct Link to image

Plz try this site...similar to rapidsahre but here the file will remain 60 days of non activity(instead of 30 to rapidshare)

The disadvantage with putfile.com is that they dont allow you to download the file........you can see it streaming from their site....however we can download vids from putfile...check my tutorial on it (check NL for link )

open www.putfile.com



when uploading video, browse the file, click on the radio button Video or Flash and check the TOS aggreement box and hit upload

wait till the video is uploaded, and then copy the BB link to MB


If you are uploading images, everything is same as above, but click the Image Radio button instead

Pretty much same as imageshack and putfile, so doing this in short. Only difference is that it uploadmall renames your file to a series of numbers

go to www.uploadmall.com and click on


browse the file and hit upload


copy the bulletin board code and paste it to MB

Well these are the various hosts which have different advantages. Imageshack is the best image host according to me. Hosting videos has a tough choice, but somehow i will cast my votes on rapidshare, becoz in a place like MB where the leecher to provider ratio is very high , we cannot afford yousendit, as the links expire in a flash

However more and more hosts like filesupload, kytec, or upload.by(courtesy challenge bhai) is coming up, however, their reliability is yet not proved (atleast i dont know much about them ).

Also before i conclude, if you have lotsa masala videos to host, there are many ppl who will provide you webspace for free. Only thing required is dedication from your part and quality stuff.
