    What sort of CD protection is this?......help me in cracking it

    phack........................
    i got a kannada VCD from a video library.......thought of copying it cos it had some masala scenes
    but phack i couldnt........... when i opened the cd drive folder i found two batch files named install.bat and uninstall.bat
    For playing the vcd in windows media player we must install the install.bat,after that the videos can b played(readme file said this)
    when i launch INSTALL.BAT .............i get the following message
    "dllregisterserverin C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\IndyVcd.ax succeeded"RegSvr32.
    inside the MPEGA folder there are mpeg files but their sizes are 1kb each.......after launching the batch file.....i can open these mpeg file(1 KB sized) in media player and see the film
    in addition to the batch files.......the CD folder has the following files
    indymp3.idt,indyvcd.ax,REAL.ax
    i cantopen the videos in video cutting softwares and split them......tried it too.......

    i also googled my problem but even some good sites like videohelp.com and cd.clubfreaks.com didnt have any solution to this sort of protection...........

    Is ther no way out...............
    Iam also enclosing the contents of the two batch files.......

    INSTALL.BAT's content.................
    @echo off

    if "%OS%"=="Windows_NT" goto NT

    Use ISOBUSTER
    http://download.videohelp.com/downlo..._all_lang2.exe
    load the cd, then run isobuster.There will be two panes. right one will have tracks.you can right click on any track.
    In the left pane there will be an iso button with a + next to it. expand by clicking. There will be a mpegav folder inside. (double?)click on it. you will get the .dat files in the right pane.right click on the dat file you want.
    after right clicking, select "Extract but filter only...MPeg frames".
    I have never come across a vcd like that, but the above should work. As far as I know, the protection works by creating fake mpegav folder in the root of the cd which fools windows, but as far as i know it won't fool isobuster. Good luck

    not assuring that i will come up with a solution,but that would be helpful..

    You did not mention how exactly you got the error with isobuster. If it is while trying to extract track or dat file-then-the bad sector error in isobuster-click ignore all-it is because of dirt or scratch- not because of the vcd -if the dirt or scratch is bad, it may seem to hang, but it continues working. You can also try with other tracks/dat files. Pl. take caps of whatever you get and post.
