[Tutorial]MPG to AVI Encoding using Virtual Dub & DivX codecs

Encoding Tutorial for all newbies who wanna share videos.

This is a very basic tutorial on how to DivX(encode) video clips(mpg or dat format) to reduce video size.

Software Requirement:

1.virtual dub(latest version)
www.virtualdub.org
2.DivX codecs(latest version)
www.divx.com

Procedure:

1.This is how virtual dub looks like-->

Load a video file(MPG or DAT)


2.Go to video-->comression as shown below


3.Choose divx codecs(u have to install divx codecs to get them in the list) and then click "configure"


4.You will see the following window,select the desired bitrate(500kbps->vcd and 750->dvd,though no restrictions)

Video encoding parameter are all ready.Press OK and now lets move to audio parameters.

5.Select audio-->full processing mode


6.After selecting full processing mode,click on compression as shown in fig.


7.You will see the following window,choose "mpeg layer 3 and select 32kbit/s 11,025HZ(Though no restriction but keep the rate near this)


Press OK.

8.Finally just save the file as avi
File-Save as AVI or Save as segmented AVI(to split)

Challenge bhai thx for info laikin yeah sab to pata tha , can u name any software which can cap avi vids frame by frame , as cyberlink power vcd do with vcd format vids , it takes the 10th part of second one by one so that one may take his best shot , but when i try avi vid on pdvd it dont allow frame by frame capping , press pause and take cap no matter it is perfect or not .

As far captures from avi movies,i never had any problems with power dvd(only problem is quality).Its wmv files that it doesn't captures.I wonder why u gettin problem capturing from avi files,maybe some settings needs to be adjusted.

You can capture the whole avi file & then use TMPGEnc or VideoMach to extract all images of video & then in those caps you can perfectly choose the pic ( for example a cleavage shot ) & post it.

Good news for Challenge Bhai too

TMPGEnc Supports WMV files too.
You just need to select all files while opening the input file.
