Efficient Usage Of YouSendIt.Com
--------------------------------------------
Guys use a DownLoad Manager for downloading files from yousendIt.Com. Sometimes your download may stop in the middle. Dont get frustrated, wait till another person, uploads it, now resume your download from previous point where it stopped. By doing this way, you are not only making your download fast, but also allowing others to download
. A step by step tutorial follows. People not interested in the logic skip the next paragraph and jump to “A step by step how to”
Now the logic behind this. YouSendIt.Com, allocates 25 times the size of file bandwidth. For example a 100mb file is uploaded. Yousendit.com allocated 2500mb bandwidth. And 10 users downloaded the file, ie 10x bandwidth was used. Now assume another 30 people started the download simultaneously, and assume same speed for all. Now all the 30 persons download stops at 50%, because the allocated bandwidth is over. Now someone re-uploaded the file for you. And these 30 people start download at same time at same speed, and again their download stops in the middle. Instead if you resume your download using a download manager, the remaining 50% of file is downloaded and concatenated. This allows not only you to download faster, but also saves bandwidth and allows others to download the file

[B]A step by step how to:[B]
The following part is from http://www.yousendit.com/dmanagers.aspx, with a little modifications.
Step 1
Click on the YouSendIt download link to open a Browser Window displaying the YouSendIt download page.
Step 2
Right-click on "Click here to download the file now" and choose Copy Shortcut. This copies the direct link to the file stored on the YouSendIt server. Leave your Browser Window open; if the file download automatically starts in your Browser Window you can cancel it.
Step 3
Paste the link in your download manager and start the download; you can now close your Browser Window. If the download is stopped before reaching 100% go to the next step, otherwise let the download complete and enjoy the file.
Step 4
If you need to resume a stopped download, first click on the original YouSendIt download link to re-open the Browser Window. If the link got expired, wait for another person to upload the file. Click on that new link, Follow steps 2 & 3.
Step 5
Instruct the download manager to resume the file and then close the Browser Window. You may need to paste the direct link into your download manager again, just make sure that the previously downloaded partial file exists in the same place.
Step 6
Go back to step 4 if required.
Important Note:
Resuming of download from another link uploaded, happens only when the original file without any modifications is uploaded.
